Car accidents: Drunk driving leads to serious Oklahoma crash

Being involved in a car crash caused by a drunk driver may be some people’s worst nightmare. Unfortunately, these types of car accidents are relatively common, but the injuries that result uniquely affect the individuals involved. Because devastating outcomes can stem from such events, it is also not unusual for negatively affected parties to pursue legal recourse.

It was recently reported that a serious accident in Oklahoma took place, and alcohol is suspected. Apparently, the crash involved three vehicles and occurred around 1:30 a.m. Reports stated that a 20-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck east in the westbound lanes and collided with a second pickup that was traveling west. A third vehicle then collided with the second pickup after the initial collision.

The incident resulted in multiple individuals becoming trapped in their vehicles. Emergency crews were able to rescue them after several minutes. Three individuals were taken to an area hospital due to suffering severe injuries. It was unclear in which vehicles the three injured individuals had been. Authorities believe that the 20-year-old woman was under the influence at the time of the accident.

Because this Oklahoma incident resulted in severe injuries, as many car accidents do, the injured parties may wish to find out more information on personal injury claims. Filing such claims against the driver considered at fault could allow the interested parties to have the ability to work toward gaining compensation for damages resulting from the event. By assessing their particular injuries and details of the accident, the injured parties may be more apt to determine whether such a course of action could suit their needs.
